2. Tour Description

The Grand Circuit is a tour route for navigating the major temples in the central area of Angkor Archeological Park. Normally, it will be chosen by the guest who already visited the temples in the small circuit tour. The Grand Circuit could provide many options depending on the organizing of the travel Agency or Tour Guide as they expected, their guests would enjoy visiting the main temples in the ancient city area.

This is another great alternative of the shared tour that we designed for our guests who aimed to explore the temple beyond the grand circuit route.

This a day shared tour, we'll go pass through the south gate of Angkor Thom and have a short time stop for shooting the photos with the beautiful gate and then go toward the north of Angkor Thom to visit the temples outside of the ancient city.

It includes the most famous temples and sights in the Grand Circuit and beyond the route as following:
+ South gate of Angkor Thom (Tonle Om Gate), is one of the most interesting places for tourists and very crowded especially in the morning. The visitor dropped when they gross into the Angkor Thom area and enjoy taking nice photographs. A short time stop for shooting the photos with the beautiful gate.

+ North gate of Angkor Thom - One of the five gates of the ancient city of Angkor Thom, not so crowded but beautiful gate. Nowadays becomes a starting point of the Grand Circuit. A short time stop for shooting the photos with the beautiful gate.

+ Preah Khan - is one of the largest complexes, attractive, and beautiful temples in the Grand Circuit at Angkor Archaeological Park.

+ Neak Pean is a quite amazing temple on an artificial island with a Buddhist temple on a circular island in Jayatataka Baray. One of the hospital temples built by King Jayavarman VII for medical purposes which the ancients believed that going into these pools would balance the elements in the bather, thus curing disease. It is based on the ancient Hindu belief of balance. There are four connected pools represent Water, Earth, Fire, and Wind. Each is connected to the central water source, the main tank, by a stone conduit "presided over by one of Four Great Animals namely Elephant, Bull, Horse, and Lion, corresponding to the north, east, south, and west quarters.

+ Prasat Ta Som - The Ancestor Som - a small quiet temple and affords a delightful visit in Angkor Archeological Park of Grand Circuits.

+ East Mebon, a mountain temple dedicated to god Shiva on an artificial island in the middle of the now-dry Eastern Baray.

+ Banteay Srei or Banteay Srey - is a 10th-century Khmer temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple located in the north-east of the main group of temples about 25km that once belonged to the medieval capitals of Yasodharapura and Angkor Thom. Banteay Srei is built largely of red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to the elaborate decorative wall carvings which are still observable today. The buildings themselves are miniature in scale, unusually so when measured by the standards of Angkorian construction. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists, and have led to its being widely praised as a "precious gem", or the "jewel of Khmer art.

+ The last of the tour and after return from the Banteay Srei also in case we have enough time, we'll let our guests spend some time for the sunset views at Pre Rup temple which is one of the most popular sunset spots, as the view over the surrounding rice fields of the Eastern Baray is beautiful, although some lofty trees have rather obscured it these days. It gets pretty crowded in the evening time.

3. Travel Itinerary

+ Morning Time:

Early morning before 7:30am, our driver and tour guide will go to pick up you at the hotel where you are staying respectively. An exact time to pick you at the hotel will be provided later after you booked the tour.

***Special remark: As time is limited, we don't have much time to pick up you by the hotels so we suggest you already prepare yourself, and then when we arrive at the hotel make sure you are all ready to go. Please make sure you all have breakfast because your lunch will be around 12:00 pm. Like this, it will not make noise for other visitors.

While everyone is picked up we'll take you to get your Angkor Pass Ticket, and then we'll head towards the temple by first short time stop at the south gate of Angkor Thom for shooting the photo with the beautiful gate.

After the south gate, we'll move forward through the Angkor Thom and leave the north gate to visit the Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, and East Mebon temples. According to this schedule, it looks a little bit tight because we want our guests to discover to all the major temples in the grand circuit route in the morning time and also because we have to travel to Banteay Srei which far away 25km northeast of the grand circuit route.

+ Lunch Time:

We will take a break for lunch at 12:30 pm in the local restaurant along the way to Banteay Srei temple. However, the flexibility still applicable in case we cannot finish the visit of those main temples so we will have a lunch break in a local restaurant along the route.

+ Afternoon Time:

After the lunch break, we'll head toward the Banteay Srei temple, an extremely popular with tourists and have led to its being widely praised as a "precious gem", or the "jewel of Khmer art." After visiting the temple, we will spend some time on the market in the temple compound so you be able to buy some gifts for your friends over here.

Return back to the Siem Reap city, so we supposed to have some time for the sunset views at the Pre Rup temple. Our guests will be transferred directly to their respective hotels.
