AIRPORT


There are two international airports that you can direct flight from many counties such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and Asian countries. The Siem Reap international airport is staying very close to the city and you will take about 20 minutes by car. 

By the way, you need to book your taxi advance otherwise you will not easy to get a taxi to the town. Phnom Penh international airport also stays very close to the town that makes your travel very quickly to the city.


TRANSPORT

In the main city of Cambodia such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, Sihanouk vill, and another downtown of Cambodia, you can find easy transportation such as tuk-tuk and PassApp taxi. PassApp taxi right now you can order by your smartphone to the nearby PassApp that close to your location. If you want to go to one province to other provinces you can take a bus, but you need to buy the bus ticket that you can order through the receptionist of the hotel you are staying in. 

However, if you want your trip easy and enjoyable, we would like to recommend you to have a full itinerary for your tour or rent the small car, tuk-tuk, van or minibus for your family or group. Like this, you will not need to think about transportation that is complicated for you.


DRESS

The dress is important for your travel to getting around the temples and pagodas. 
Temples and pagodas are places of worship, so dress accordingly.​ Wearing the singlet and skimpy shorts of clothing is showing inappropriate and no respect. Make sure your shoulders and knees are covered by the clothes all the time you are entering the temples or pagoda. You should wear a hat and sunglasses or take umbrellas to shade or protect you from the sunlight, sometimes very hot.


TIMING

Sunrise is early morning between 5.40 am to 6.30 am depending on the season. Sunset is around 17.40 pm to 18.30 pm. Between October and December, the sun rises fast and the sunset is fast as well.​ Getting around the temples of Siem Reap, sunrise and sunset are the most beautiful and popular for the tourists to the view of Angkor Wat and it is very crowded at that time.

To visit the temples in the morning time is so crowded in the south gate of Angkor Thom temples because tourists are dropped and take a picture of the beauty of  Angkor Thom south gate. By the way, Angkor Wat also crowded in the late afternoon because tourists try to claim in the temples to see the sunset.


WEATHER

Starting from November until February is the best time of the year to visit the temples as it is generally cool and dry. From March to April temperature is increase and hitting an uncomfortable level especially in April. From May to September is raining season and it will be a lot of heavy raining in August and September during the Khmer Pchum Ben day (Buddha ceremony).


BEST TRAVEL SEASON

Travel to Cambodia you might need to know which is the best season for your trip and it depends on your purpose as well. Getting around the temples you can visit whatever you want, but if you want to include your trip with any seasonal purpose here we have a few tips to let know somehow.

Explore your trip to see the floating village in the Tonle Sap, the best month is between October to November. Celebrate Christmas day and the international new year comes in December and January, as it very crowded and here in Siem Reap we always celebrate the countdown in the pub-street. So many foreigners people from the world here together for passing into the new year.

Enjoy your trip to see the Khmer traditional cultures you can come during the celebrating of Khmer new year in April between 14 to 16 every year and we display our cultures for the tourists. If you want to see the boat racing, you can come on the day of the water festival in November of each year. This Boat racing is our culture and we celebrate the big event in Siem Reap town and Phnom Penh. PEOPLE

People or Khmer people are very nice, smiling, and very friendly. The more you respect them, the more you get respect and friendly are get. They are so nice if you ask them where you want to go, they will tell you very friendly. They are very helpful people.


MONEY AND BANKING

There is plenty of ATM machines across the town that you can your money easy. Cambodia is a country that has implemented a soft monetary policy, so there are two hard currencies that can be marketed in Cambodia for any purchases or expenses are Riels and US dollars and other currencies you can make exchange very easy with the bank and any money exchange shops that nearby you across the town or in the local market.


SECURITY & PROTECTION

In general, Cambodia is a country of complete peace throughout the country, so you will no worry about your safety, however, the protection is what you have to pay attention especially for some situations that you don't believe in it.

Commonly and everywhere in the world, you have to pay attention to your things to avoid any loss. Here in Cambodia, you have to pay attention to your things especially during traveling on the road with a tuk-tuk or PassApp taxi or walk during the night because it could be stealing your bag or wallets​ by any means that make your trip meaningless.

Better you don't carry more money than you need, try to go through the main road, avoid walking alone or quiet street during the night, keep your valuable things such as phone, wallets, handbag, mobile phone, or camera close to you. Also, we recommend you to have the local hotline or emergency numbers that you can call them when you have a problem such as fire, tourist police, ambulance, and international hospital, etc.


MARKET & SHOPPING

There are three types of markets in Cambodia are the local market, the night market, and the supper market.

There is plenty of local market in Cambodia, for example, the Phsar Leu, Phsar Kandle, Phsar Chas, Phsar Krom markets in Siem Reap province, the Phsar Thom Thmey, Phsar Ou Lampich, Phsar Ou Russey in Phnom Penh and other local markets everywhere in Cambodia. It's sold all kinds of products including clothes, vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, and all kinds of items by the needed very cheapest and fair price. This kind of local market, it is open only day time. 

The night market is for the tourist and you can find it in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, and Battambang. Also, there are plenty of supermarkets in Cambodia, but only in the town. However, you also can find the small mark in other capital cities of Cambodia and in gasoline stations as well.

Generally, the price of the items is fair and reasonable. The expense of your meals is about 5$, excepted for some markets for the western people such as pub-street and night market in Siem Reap that price of the meals and including other items are a bit expensive.
