Temple Info
Banteay Prei, meaning the "Citadel of the Forest". The Banteay Prei was originally built as a Buddhist temple in the Bayon style by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th or early 13th century. The temple is very quiet and only a few visitors will stop to see it as they don't have enough time to visit and it is not major temples in the grand tour. However, an individual or small group tour much easy to go in a few minutes and explore more to the small temples that most tourists missing them.
Also, you can visit the Prasat Prei, a small temple in the small hillock near it at the same time.
The temple is stylistically similar to nearby Preah Khan and Ta Prohm temples. However, it is relatively small, with its outer enclosure measuring about 150 x 200 meters, inside of which is a moat measuring 80 x 60 meters. At the center of the ensemble is the temple's inner enclosure which is only 25 x 30 meters in size.

Getting There
Banteay Prei Temple is located immediately north of Preah Khan and Prasat Prei temples.
Banteay Prei temple is one of the small temples include in Grand Tour, If you go from the north gate of Angkor Thom, then towards Preah Khan temple. After the north entrance of Preah Khan about 100 meters, turn right through the path about 150 meters.
Before arriving at the Banteay Prei, you will see the Prasat Prei temple stands on the small natural hillock, and then after past Prasat Prei temple, you can go forward about 100 meters, then you will arrival it at the left side.
