Temple Info
This small chapel of Angkor hospital is along the small circuit tour and easily reachable after you visited the Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon temples. Another name called "Prasat Leak Neang", every closed to Ta Keo temple.
The Angkor Hospital Chapel is west of Ta Keo temple after you passed the Chau Say Tevoda temple and Spean Thmor (bridge) of the Siem Reap river, on the west side of the road.
The chapel was built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. An inscription found in the area confirms the identity of this site as one of the chapels of the 102 hospitals built by the King. The central sanctuary is a cruciform-shaped opening to the east with a false door on the other three sides. Female divinities adorn the exterior and a scroll surrounds the base of the tower. The pediments are decorated with images of the Buddha.
It’s a small chapel and the only structure which is still visible from what would have been a hospital. The chapel is rarely visited, however, it would be a great place to visit and shoot some photos for your memory as it will be not taken along of the visit and as it is included in the small circuit tour.
